Hervé Revel, the new CEO of REP, has been working for 25 years at the manufacturer of rubber injection moulding machines.
On 1 October, Hervé Revel took over the management of the REP group, replacing Bruno Tabar, who retired after 30 years as president. This is not a surprise for the new CEO, who has been working for 25 years in the designer and manufacturer of rubber injection presses taken over at the end of 2010 by the Aryes group.
“This succession was prepared a long time ago. Bruno Tabar and I have survived numerous crises together.”, explains Hervé Revel, referring in particular to the employment protection plan that occurred in 2010 following the financial shock that affected the entire planet in 2008/2009. And also, of course, to the pandemic, its upheavals, as well as to the war in Ukraine and its multiple consequences. “Even if the current period is also difficult, we are now back to the level of activity that we knew before the arrival of Covid-19”, specifies the new director of technical training.
The man started working in the company in 1998 in the R&D department and actively participated in the reliability and industrialization of the new press of the time, Generation 8, before its presentation at the K show in the same year. He then continued his rise step by step, taking on more and more responsibilities, until he became the director of the after-sales service in 2005, was appointed industrial and technical director in 2010, then became director of operations and deputy CEO in 2017.
the K 2025 that he is preparing with his teams and the presentation of the eleventh generation of the manufacturer's machine. “The new presses should consume less energy and water, without losing quality. We need to integrate the principles of ecodesign into them, to be concerned about their end of life and their carbon footprint in a more important way than today.”, he explains.
But the ambition he has for the group is not limited to environmental aspects: “We are one of the world leaders in the sector. Despite fierce competition from Europeans and Asians, we want to maintain this premium positioning and continue to support our customers, to meet their growing demands for automated solutions, in particular in the face of the shortage of personnel in the industry.”, concludes Hervé Revel.
